Co-creating the future of health

200 000 square meters for life science and health innovation. GoCo Health Innovation City is the new urban city center developed to reinforce Sweden as an innovator in life science. A cluster for health, where collaboration is built into the core.

In February the signature building GoCo House will open and welcome a dynamic mix of tenants. Soon to be followed by GoCo Clinic and GoCo Care. Uniting the buildings, businesses and people, is the belief in cooperation - and that is what GoCo is all about. A hub to meet and network, enabling for new ways to unlock solutions to global health challenges.

- GoCo Health Innovation City enables for companies and individuals to develop and strengthen health care through collaboration. When you gather small and large companies, scientists, entrepreneurs and talents from all over the world, to share knowledges and ideas, things will start to happen. GoCo Health Innovation City is a place bringing people together to accelerate health innovation, a place for collaboration supporting new innovations for the future, says Moa Dicksdotter, Community Manager at GoCo Health Innovation City.

Earlier this year, Mölnlycke Health Care, announced that they will relocate their headquarter to GoCo. With a vision of building a cornerstone of their future, the new headquarter is intended to position the company for the future they want to shape.

GoCo offers a possibility to become part of a larger community, where other actors and co-workers share our vision to transform people's lives through smarter healthcare solutions

Kristin Hedlund,
EVP Legal, General Counsel at Mölnlycke

- This will be a headquarter fully tailored to our needs. Our vision for GoCo is a space that is both an office, a lab and a place that makes it easy to collaborate and socialize with colleagues, customers, and partners. We envision an environment which will energize us and contribute to a better quality of life for ourselves as well as for our customers and their patients, says Kristin Hedlund, EVP Legal, General Counsel at Mölnlycke.

Founded in 1849, many milestones and revolutionary health solutions have passed through Mölnlycke Health Care's history over the years. For instance, Mölnlycke Health Care was the first to mass-produce wound dressings and the first to offer single-use drapes and powder-free coated surgical gloves (as for a fact, every three seconds, a Mölnlycke drape is used in surgery somewhere in the world). The move to GoCo now entails expectations of new milestones and innovations to come.

- Radical innovation is an important building block in our strategy and our new office at GoCo will inspire interaction and creativity enabling new ways of working and new innovations to emerge. GoCo offers a possibility to become part of a larger community, where other actors and co-workers share our vision to transform people's lives through smarter healthcare solutions, Kristin Hedlund continues.

Another tenant moving into the district is the specialist care group within hand-and-foot surgery, Atleva. During next year, the company locates all their four Gothenburg-based clinics into three floors at GoCo Clinic.

- Getting the opportunity to collaborate with companies that are at the forefront is a great way to further develop your own business

Ola Collin,
Founder and Establishment Manager at Atleva.

- Getting the opportunity to collaborate with companies that are at the forefront is a great way to further develop your own business and, in the end, make a difference for your customers. We really look forward to welcome clients to our brand-new clinic and also welcome new possible collaborations with other businesses in the area, says Ola Collin, Founder and Establishment Manager at Atleva.

To develop through collaborations in order to create something even greater is a view shared by many companies at GoCo Health Innovation City. For the law firm dNovo, moving into the co-working hub at GoCo House, collaboration is a substantial reason behind the move. The company is represented in Gothenburg and Helsingborg and see GoCo House as a new opportunity to broaden the availability further. "We want to be a part of the ecosystem and be right in the middle of the action, where things happen, and we aim to lower the threshold to consult a lawyer, says David Schreiber, Lawyer at dNovo.

- The entire city district is bursting with innovation and new ideas, exactly the kind of environment we want to operate in

David Schreiber,
Lawyer at dNovo

- The entire city district is bursting with innovation and new ideas, exactly the kind of environment we want to operate in. We work within different disciplines in business law, so I look forward to meeting both existing and new contacts. Collaboration is very much the way forward to drive development, regardless of the industry you operate in. But collaboration also needs to end up on a paper to become clear, structured and transparent. In this matter, I hope to contribute to one and another formulation. I look forward to many spontaneous conversations by the coffee machine, David ends.

Regardless of size or each company's business concept, the word collaboration is constant. The importance of cross border collaborations and to build bridges between the unexpected will certainly become a key to manage both health challenges and business challenges - and this is exactly what GoCo Health Innovation is built to do.
